Hello, friend! Let me share why I wrote The Planting Festival. I was thinking about how to teach my children to approach times of uncertainty. Children experience so many firsts: their first day at school, first math test, first trip to the dentist, first dance class, first recital. And the list goes on. Each one of these first times is an opportunity for young children to learn more about the world and themselves. So, I wanted to encourage approaching these ‘firsts’ with curiosity, because it’s one of the best ways to reflect on life experiences, learn from them, and adapt successfully to change. In the process, I wanted to offer words of encouragement to help children develop and affirm their sense of self by nurturing a positive self-image.
